Posters and powerpoint slides invited for exhibit on Climate Change, also sustainable technology prototypes


Researchers working on issues related to climate change are invited to submit ONE-SLIDE POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS on your work and findings, for inclusion an art exhibition on Climate Change, to be held in downtown Athens, Georgia, USA. All legitimate topics related to climate change research are welcome. We also invite submissions from engineers and prototypes of sustainable, socially equitable technologies. Solar displays are needed. Please email slides and ideas to ecoartlaboratory@gmail.com. Please send us your ideas asap, but our absolute deadline for receiving ppt slides and prototypes is noon on March 15.


Earth Art for Kids


Saturday, February 23    11am – 1pm

Kids 3-9 and their caretakers are invited to a free art-making event at eco*art*lab, a pop-up art and learning space in downtown Athens. Look for our sign on the Prince side of the Bottleworks complex. Projects will be focused on earth and the meaning of interdependence, and will feature mandala-making. Materials provided. FREE

eco*art*lab, a pop-up gallery and artspace in downtown Athens, Georgia invites artistic works on the various aspects, dimensions and understandings of global climate change, to be exhibited March 23- April 27, 2013.

Accepting submissions in all genres and media, including installation, live art and performance. There are opportunities for site-specific installations in numerous rooms (see images below).*

Email ecoartlaboratory@gmail.com your digital images, video clips, sound files or specific page URLs to us along with a brief statement about how your work relates to the theme. Inquiries welcome.

Display: The decision of where and how to exhibit the artwork is at the curator’s discretion. If there are special instructions for hanging or maintaining the work, please include these with your submission.

Publicity: The exhibition will be publicized in various media outlets, and postcards will be sent out to multiple listservs prior to the event. Posters will be hung on the University of Georgia campus and in Athens, Atlanta, and other locations in Georgia. The exhibition will also be publicized by our co-sponsors, including Ideas for Creative Exploration at UGA.

Delivery and Shipping: All shipping and shipping insurance costs to and from the gallery are the responsibility of the artist. Delivery and shipping instructions will be sent to accepted artists at the time of notification of acceptance.

Sales: Sales inquiries will be directed to the artists or their representatives. eco*art*lab will not serve as a dealer or take commissions on sales.
